I was promoted to a manager in May of 2021! I was placed at a theatre that was facing special issues due to covid-19. When i arrived there as a manager we only had 15 associates on staff. When i left that theatre to my current theatre we had about 35 associates. I immediately stepped into a human resources role there. i was in charge of all hiring and interviewing. i also wrote all the schedules for all associates. i created a training plan that we still stick to!

As well as being an HR manager i also performed other duties as a manager. i was in charge of running the theatre by myself. I was in charge of crew, training and directing them. i took care of any and all guest concerns and diffused situations to the best of my abilitys. I performed the daily closing duties that included counting down drawers, reconciling drawers, counting the safe at the end of the night and balancing it. I oversaw theatre cleans at the end of the night and made sure that all the safe and clean procedures were getting done. I conducted weekly inventory counts and made sure that our theatre was fully stocked with everything that it needed to run and succeed. I worked closely with my General Manager in running the theatre and working out problems with facilities and staffing shortages.

I worked as a supervisor at two different AMC locations.

The first location i was at was a DINE-IN deliver to seat theatre. Which meant that we had a bigger menu of actual food items that we prepared on site in our full kitchen. And the second location i worked at as a supervisor was a full service DINE-IN theatre that was basically a restaurant in a movie theatre.

My responsibilities at these locations as a supervisor included:

Marketing: Making sure all of our theatre marketing materials were up to date and up to the markets standards. i coordinated with our corporate offices about release dates and shipping dates.

Cash Handling: i acquired excellent cash handling skills as i assisted the managers each night counting down the drawers and reconciling them in our systems.

Leadership: I assisted the managers by being present on the floor for operations, providing leadership to the crew and support for them when they needed it. I planned breaks and provided training to new hires. i also phone screened potential applicants and did phone interviews.

Booth Experience: i was taught how the projectors work and how to program them and schedule movies and how to troubleshoot if they went down.

Kitchen experience: i was also in charge of the kitchen from time to time. As the kitchen supervisor, i made sure food got cooked to our specific standards in a timely and safe way. i trained new cooks and made sure that they knew what they were doing.

Bartender: i was trained in bar operations as a supervisor. i learned how to make drinks to specs and all the legal issues involving the bar and bartending.

As a film crew associate at AMC theatres i was trained in all the major areas: Concessions, Box Office, Ushering, Usher greeter.

Concessions: I took guests food orders and prepared there hot foods and popcorn. I assisted the guests with menu touring if they did not know what they wanted and gave them recommendations. I also handled cash as well as credit card transactions.

Box Office: I sold movie tickets to guests. I also performed refunds and voids and answered any questions that would arise from guests at guest services.

Ushering: Made sure that theatres got cleaned in a timely manner in between shows. Kept the lobby and condiment stations as well as the bathrooms clean and tidy. Made sure that the lobby and bathrooms were fully stocked up. And provided relief for other areas when breaks were needed or help with lines were needed.

Usher Greeter: Was in charge of greeting guests when they walked through our doors. Checked tickets and directed people to there designated theatres. Made sure no one tried to sneak into a show.
