  • Our School was an 'A' in 2023
  • Graduate of National Institute for School Leadership (NISL)
  • Honored as Most Involved Principal from the MDCPS Title I Chess program
  • In 2015-2016, we had an increase of six percent in our seventh-grade Civics scores and a nine percent increase in our Science scores.
  • Built middle school curriculum to include honors high school courses, as well as, Dual Enrollment classes.
  • The 2010-2011 FCAT scores reflect an increase of seven percent of the students Meeting High Standards in Reading. There was an increase of four percent of the students Making Learning Gains in Reading and an increase of fourteen percent of the Lowest 25% Making Learning Gains in Reading. In the area of Adequate Yearly Progress, Reading Proficiency was met this year. Dr. Edward L. Whigham Elementary has maintained a grade of 'B' for the past four years, an increase from a grade of 'C' in 2006-2007.
