Madison Hecker

Highly motivated student-athlete and psychology major with minors in criminal justice and Spanish, maintaining a 3.98 GPA. Skilled in time management, collaboration, organization, and interpersonal communication with experience gained through psychology and criminal justice coursework and research, proficiency in Spanish, and various volunteer work. Proven leadership skills, developed through the completion of the FBI National Academy Associates Youth Leadership Academy. • Shop with a Cop in Kenosha, WI (Winter 2017 and Winter 2018)

-Worked alongside other volunteers to wrap presents for children and families in low-income communities. Additionally, I accompanied my father and the child he was paired with, which contributed to fostering a positive relationship between law enforcement and the community.

• Salvation Army Bell Ringing in Kenosha, WI (Winter 2018 and Winter 2019)

-Encouraged generosity by creating an inviting and cheerful atmosphere that inspired others to donate funds to support families in need during the holiday season.

• Feed My Starving Children in Libertyville, IL (2019-2023)

-Collaborated with a team to package nutritious meals for children in third world countries. I was in charge of watching the clock during meal-packing sessions to maintain an efficient, fast-paced workflow.

• Freedom Farm for Vets in Wadsworth, IL (2015-2024)

-Provided therapeutic services to veterans including caring for animals on the farm, writing personalized letters, planting vegetables in the garden to supply fresh produce, and delivering roses to brighten their day.

• Wafer Food Drive in La Crosse, WI (Fall 2023 and Fall 2024)

-Distributed donation bags to community members and collected filled bags containing canned goods for the local food pantry.

• Veteran's Breakfast in La Crosse, WI (Fall 2024)

-Assisted with event setup, food service, and cleanup, while engaging with veterans through meaningful conversations to show appreciation for their service. This demonstrates demonstrating my communication skills and ability to create a supportive environment. 

• Hixon 50k La Crosse, WI (Fall 2023 and Fall 2024)

-Handed out food and water to runners at designated aid stations. My role during volunteering was the communication liaison, serving as the point of contact between the aid station and race officials, reporting updates, emergencies, and supply shortages.

• Letters of Love Club at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse (2025)

-Create/design cards for children in hospitals around the United States
