Maelle Wang

As a double major in philosophy and gender studies, I'm well-experienced in effective reading and analyzing skills, particularly for condensed papers. Also, with a strong ability in both presenting and constructing logical deductions through problems, I enhance my ability to create solutions from a different angle, with vigorous semantic accuracy and concise verbal presentation skills.

Moreover, I'm good at getting in touch with social norms and policies during the process, with a high social sensitivity training background, while always being able to find the blind spots in contexts.

• Named to College's academic merit list for four times

• Currently Working on the intersectional topic in arguing against Hard Incompatibilist Derek Pereboom's four case argument in free will with the angle of Virginia Held's Feminist Epistemology in ethic of care; by arguing Pereboom's ethic of justice philosophy model presumes and necessitate the logical equivalency of Moral Responsibility & Accountability Agency through introducing the feminist ethic of care model.

• Enthusiastic in volunteering work: used to work as an elementary school weekly assisting teacher.
• Passionate in activist work around campus: used to be in the on campus activity coordinator and planner team for one years. Team work in creating and presenting a non-profit on campus workshop for the new Title IX policy's victims in school; and through the feedback and practice from the workshop, result in creating a group manifesto as the response to College's inconsiderate Title IX policy and structural injustice.
• Persistence in editorial production: Besides writing and reading for school work, continuously and actively read, view, and write for film critique on personal website.
• Media awareness & enjoying activity associating with media in general: create and lead a on campus film appreciation community that viewed on-time film that holds different diversity background and lead the discussion afterward.
