• Supervise military nursing assistants and student nurses in military health facilities.
• Triage patients and provide health education.

· Assisted the Doctor during the VMMC procedure

• Carried out pre-circumcision preparations and made sure that the operation room is ready for the operation and the required equipment is in good condition, functioning properly and is sterilized.

• Prepared the client for VMMC procedure and administered local anaesthesia and completed the suturing process following the VMMC procedure.

• Provided client education in VMMC and HIV and secured informed consent from clients or the parent/guardian prior to VMMC.

• Obtained the client’s medical history and conducted a physical examination pre-procedure- conduct pre-operation screening of clients.

• Cleaned and applied dressings to patients after procedures and reinforced postoperative messages especially wound care.

• Conducted post-operative reviews on clients – including telephonic and or physical follow up at Day 2, Day 7 and 42 post operatively.

• Ensured that clients’ information is properly and accurately recorded and

reported in all VMMC forms.

• Implemented patients nursing care plan.
• Scheduled patient admissions and discharges.
• Assessed patient status and notify physicians of clinical changes.
• Interacted with different departments regarding patients care.
