Respond to fires, motor vehicle incidents and other emergencies, including hazardous material incidents. Operate firefighting equipment, such as hoses, light equipment (chainsaws, generators, circular saw etc.) and extinguishers, to control and extinguish fires. Conduct inspections, educate the public on fire safety, and implement measures to prevent fires. Ensure that firefighting equipment and gear are in proper working order through regular checks and maintenance. Preformed groundskeeping on all 7 stations, including lawn mowing, hedge trimming, minor building repairs and painting. Participate in ongoing training and drills to stay current with firefighting techniques and safety procedures. Document and report details of emergency incidents, including actions taken and outcomes. Provide emergency medical care, including assessing patients, performing CPR, administering medications, and using medical equipment. Safely transport patients to medical facilities while providing necessary medical care during transit. Evaluate patients' conditions and prioritize care based on the severity of their injuries or illnesses. Work closely with other emergency responders, such as paramedics, police, and hospital staff, to ensure coordinated care. Accurately record patient information, treatment provided, and the overall incident details. Educate the public on emergency medical procedures and health practices.
