Machine Operator

5 Months
Bell Carter Packaging | 09.2023 - 02.2024
  • Preparing boxes for packaging and stacking them onto pallets
  • I always make sure when I change pallets whether the code of box change or not to notify my lead ahead of time
  • I know how to fill out the Changeover sheet when we finish a certain product and change over to a new one by marking its total of orders (pallets), workers, types of chips used along with the times of break, lunch, and or if the band would stop moving for a certain time.
  • Before starting the production lines I check the Calibrators on each line with a weight of 100 grams make sure it’s running well and that its giving the precise weight of box product.
  • I check the dates on chips each time we change to a new pallet to make sure the dates don’t change and if they do I notify my lead
  • I set up every morning the machine that makes the boxes and make sure it doesn’t make the box look bad or give to many issues while the line is running
  • When the machine starts giving issues I look at the problem and figure out when part of the machine is the problem and what to adjust to run better.
  • I know to change over different boxes an all three machines and how to adjust them all as well.
  • One time when maintenance was not there our machine that closes the boxes started making a loud sound and I notified the supervisor at the time. It started giving issues for 2nd shift that day and was turned off. The next day I observed the machine and it was not gluing the boxes right. I saw that the issues was not the glue but the air pressure that throws the glue through so I notified the supervisor and Tyler and told them what I needed in order to fix the problem and they lended me the tools. We tightened the airway pole to the glue more since it loosened up and created the problem in the first place. After we fixed the problem it created a hole in the tube that flows the air through and I saw the issue immediately and put specific tape for the machine to help resolve the issue until it had a proper fix.

Machine Operator

1 Year 2 Months
Blount Fine Foods | 03.2022 - 05.2023
  • I started off in packaging which was only having to tape small types of boxes and stacking them in pallets to prepare for when the kitchen would send the soup over to packaging
  • The containers of soup would often get full and start falling off the conveyor while making its way to be packaged so I would put bins in certain areas to prevent too much spilling and lost of product
  • I learned to use a pallet jack to move pallets around and I learned the 3 different ways to stack all orders depending the box type
  • Overtime the warehouse installed Machines to work better and faster, I was intrigued to learn and was given the chance to operate the machine to changeovers.
  • I was operating a lid machine that would compress the lids on top of the containers, a sleeve machine that would put its cover on top of the soup, and changeover/set-ups for a box machine that would set up the boxes ready to open and close for the workers
  • I also wore a blue hairnet before the warehouse shut down which allowed me access to learn about the computer data, nutritions data, and the tests to run before we would start our conveyors.
  • Often Translate our meetings and announcements in english to spanish

Employee Manager

2 Years 7 Months
Baja Fresh Mexican Grill Restaurant | 04.2019 - 11.2021
  • I was a cashier that takes orders, organizes to go orders, cleaned and sanitized the lobby and cashier station
  • I learned the ways of the kitchen, my responsibilities were to prepare vegetables by washing, cutting, and setting them on the cooking station
  • Early mornings I would arrange the boxes of ordered products and double check what was needed
  • Being Bilingual was an extra help when it came to speaking to customers that needed help in spanish as I was able to give them more than a conversation and better service
  • Welcoming Customers to the store was a way to make people feel welcomed and a place that's waiting for them
  • Responsible for opening the restaurant 1 hour early to start our register system, unlocking doors, and preparing sodamachine / salsabar
  • By Closing time I would turn off “open” signs, Lock all doors, clean the front lobby, count our tilts in the end and make sure to store the information of sales on our system.
