RYSE MED
During my internship at RYSE MED (Readying Youth Scientists for Excellence in Medicine, Health Equity, and Discovery) at Henry Ford Hospital, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the medical field and expand my knowledge significantly. I shadowed a neurosurgeon, where I was able to observe her interactions with patients during postoperative consultations. This experience provided me with valuable insights into patient care, recovery processes, and the complexities of neurosurgical practices.
Additionally, I spent time with an OB-GYN resident, where I had the rare chance to witness both a natural birth and a cesarean section. Observing these two different childbirth experiences enriched my understanding of the medical protocols and emotional support necessary for mothers during labor. Each moment reinforced my passion for pursuing a career in medicine and deepened my appreciation for the dedication of healthcare professionals.
