Makena Foster

I am 15 years old and during the summer spend my time working at Nau Summer Bug Camp! I started working at the camp back in June of 2022 and finished my last round of counseling in July 2023. I really enjoy working with little kids and spending time around other people. Some of my responsibilities working at the camp were: Time management, Parental communication, Inclusion, Organization, Patience, and Leadership. Working at this camp taught me a lot about little kids and how they interact with the world around them. Working with little kids taught me a lot about patience as well as understanding. Working at this summer camp was my first real job that I have ever had. I have had other experiences with handling money and volunteering. I have volunteered at the Family Food Kitchen as well as the Coconino Humane Society. I was in Girl Scouts for a couple of years which really helped me interact with the public. Doing Girl Scouts really helped me with money managing, and communication. I worked with managing money when I was selling Girl Scout cookies and I learned a lot about communication with various strangers. Energetic Camp Counselor experienced in directing camp activities and helping school-aged children develop confidence and achieve life goals. Skilled at planning, executing and supervising activities including arts, sports and hikes. Strong interpersonal communication abilities that encourage fun while sustaining camp missions.
