My name is Makenzie and I’m 20 years old. I have been housekeeping since I was 14. I originally chose this line of work because I was very introverted and preferred not to be tasked with a lot of public interaction. I was hired at Seascape Motel & Cottages when I was 17. After 3 years, I finally said my goodbyes in November of 2024. It was at Seascape where I came out of my shell and became confident as I took on new responsibilities and became a successful asset to the company. I was the owner’s right hand, where I took on anything asked of me and even for their personal needs. I cared for their 4 year old son on various occasions and cleaned their home. I credit my employer in my growth as an individual and as an employee. I have become outgoing, confident, independent and incredibly hard working. The original owners of Seascape Motel & Cottages sold the property, but I was asked by the new owner to stay with the company, so that’s where I returned in 2024. I also worked a second job at Dairy Queen. I was asked not to leave when Seascape opened back up for the season and I agreed to work per diem. Eventually, I was working part-time at Dairy Queen again while continuing to work my full-time job at Seascape, so for a while I juggled both. There are days I went from one job straight to the other and gave my best to both. The season got over at the motel and I returned to Dairy Queen full-time, but now I am ready for a change. I am a good and capable worker who has never had a bad review and I try not to disappoint.
