Assist in monitoring patients with moderate sedation, maintaining a sterile field by accounting for surgical instruments and keeping record of medication. Assist the surgical team throughout the entire surgical procedure by passing instruments. Experienced with mandibular jaw reconstruction under local anesthesia and moderate sedation. Monitor patient's movement indicating shallow level of anesthesia, keeping count of sponges, needles and irrigation fluid used. Patient preparation by disinfecting intra- and extra- oral operative surfaces, including graft areas. Operating room set-up of equipment, supplies, instruments for operative procedures. Maintain standard protocol for patient restrainers according to procedure being perform, along with drugs and IV solution. Verify the Record of Operation/Patient consent form. Also verify patient specimens to be taken to pathology. Keep record of medication and drugs dispense. Actively assisting surgical team by utilizing retractors in the mouth and external jaw wounds. Chairside assistance to Doctors, sterilize instruments, clerical duties, set up rooms, clean rooms, make appointments, discharge patients, take X-rays and do vital signs on patients."
