Work History

0311 Infantry Rifleman

U.S. Marine Corps Reserve
11.2023 - Current

Checked in to this unit immediately after leaving the Infantry Marine Course schoolhouse. The eight year contract signed prior to joining this unit entails six years of active participation then the final two years inactive. Participation consists of attending monthly drill sessions which can last from 2-5 days at a time. These drill sessions can vary from physical fitness tests, aptitude training seminars, administration duties, and most importantly fire-team field exercises.

Also included is the Annual Training event which takes place once a year during either the late spring or early summer. It is typically held at a distant location for approximately two weeks.

Other aspects of this job to consider are the additional training courses/exercises that are obligatory to attend at various military bases across the country (normally spanning a few days to a few weeks once every other year or so depending on the course/exercise), and deployments, which can last several months at a time and can be expected once or even twice per an eight year contract, but is not guaranteed.

0311 Infantry Rifleman Student

United States Marine Corps
07.2023 - 11.2023

Participated in and passed the Infantry Marine Course located at Camp Geiger, NC, which prepares the infantry Marine in a general overview of the skills and knowledge needed to perform this job. These include:

  • Enhanced team performance by conducting regular training sessions on tactics and techniques, weaponry, and equipment.
  • Increased operational efficiency through meticulous planning and execution of missions in various environments.
  • Improved unit readiness by participating in rigorous physical fitness programs and maintaining high standards of personal discipline.
  • Maintained accurate inventory of weapons, ammunition, and equipment for effective resource management during training sessions.

Recruit

United States Marine Corps
03.2023 - 06.2023

I put myself in the position to completely reinvent what it means to be psychologically and physically disciplined. We were taught every aspect of the Marine Corps through it's history and traditions, fitness standards, and especially team building exercises.

HVAC Apprentice

Team Poteete Mechanical, LLC
11.2020 - 03.2023

Don Poteete (225) 788-1117

Started this journey with only a basic knowledge of the trade industry, but through hard work and an eagerness to expand my skills, I became a valuable member to the team.

  • Commissioned a countless number of installs of nearly all sizes (commercial and residential) with only preliminary instruction and assistance.
  • Worked hand in hand with the other technicians to diagnose and repair units ranging from restaurant refrigeration, large chillers, package units, mini-splits, and everything in between.
  • Performed maintenance services to satisfy PMA contracts for all types of clients (alone as well as alongside junior and senior techs). This included inspections, cleanings, and extensive documentation in written reports.
  • Gained valuable comprehension of the Daikin VRV systems with hundreds of hours of hands on experience as well as becoming certified in these systems through Daikin sponsored workshops.
  • EPA 608 Universal certified.

Plant Worker

Stupp Coatings
10.2019 - 10.2020

Main Office (225) 755-3018

This plant chemically coated oilfield pipes to be shipped out to the field. I started as general labor on the inbound side, but was quickly given many opportunities to learn nearly every job on the plant floor.

  • Manually rolling the 20,000 lb pipes with a metal bar as well as tightening and positioning the caps that fit to each end.
  • Using angle grinder to quickly smooth out imperfections after the pipes left the shot-blaster.
  • Quickly grinding the bevel of the pipe to proper specifications.
  • Inspecting the thickness of the chemical coating using a mil-gauge and an electric "jeeping" device.
  • Repairing imperfections using a 2-part epoxy.
  • Quickly tallying inbound and outbound pipes with a scanning device to ensure accurate inventory accountability.
  • Performing regular maintenance tasks to ensure proper operation of the machines moving the pipes (cleaning, oiling, greasing, tightening, etc.).
  • Operating the control box on both inbound and outbound sides to control the flow of production through the plant.
  • Various forklift duties (moving supplies and materials around the plant floor where and when needed).

Landscaper

A&R Lawn Care
08.2019 - 08.2019

Scott Brady (985) 966-1266

Even though this job lasted for just a brief 3 week period, it taught me very valuable lessons about balancing quality of work with time management.

  • Trimming and edging the corners and high spots of people's yards (5,000 sqft - 6 acres) accurately and within an allotted amount of time.
  • Blowing the debris off correctly and quickly then loading the equipment back on the trailer in just enough time to reach the next location.

General Laborer

Higher Ground Solutions
03.2019 - 07.2019

Jim (General Contractor) (413) 615-9331

This company bought distressed houses in the Mandeville area to be remodeled and sold for a profit. I took on this job to gain more knowledge and insight into the construction field as that was where my interests were at the time right after my college career went on hold. I learned a lot in the short time I worked there through assisting the GC with anything that needed to be done.

  • Assisted in the successful completion of various construction projects through diligent labor and attention to detail.
  • Completed tasks efficiently for timely project completion within set deadlines.
  • Increased productivity with effective communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Ensured quality workmanship, performing thorough inspections and addressing any issues promptly.

Maintenance Worker

SWS Enterprises/Latter & Blum
06.2013 - 02.2019

Laura McNiece (225) 413-6143

During most of high school and college I performed general (mostly grounds/janitorial) maintenance services for Latter & Blum Property Management. Throughout this period I've done my own invoicing, created and completed my own schedules, and maintained, along with the other maintenance crews, over twenty different commercial properties in the Baton Rouge area.
