Provide strategic leadership for regional behavioral health crisis initiatives serving the Roanoke Valley while coordinating partnerships across behavioral health, healthcare, public safety, and state agencies.

Key accomplishments:

• Led regional implementation of Virginia's Marcus Alert legislation through collaboration with multiple jurisdictions and community partners.
• Directed development and implementation of the Crisis Intervention Team Assessment Center (CITAC), an innovative alternative for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.
• Designed and established the Roanoke Valley CIT Co-Response Program, integrating clinicians alongside law enforcement officers to improve crisis outcomes.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary partnerships among local police departments, sheriff's offices, hospitals, emergency communications centers, behavioral health providers, family advocates, and community organizations.
• Develop operational policies, procedures, and best practices supporting regional crisis response initiatives.
• Serve as liaison with the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS).
• Collect, analyze, and report regional crisis system performance data to evaluate outcomes and support continuous quality improvement.
• Lead Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training for law enforcement officers, dispatch personnel, and community stakeholders.
• Coordinated Negotiator Support Team operations and collaborative crisis response efforts.
• Represent the region on statewide behavioral health initiatives as a member of the Virginia CIT Coalition Board of Directors.
• Foster strong interagency partnerships to improve behavioral health crisis response across the continuum of care.

Provide comprehensive behavioral health crisis assessment, intervention, stabilization, and care coordination for individuals experiencing psychiatric emergencies.

• Conduct emergency psychiatric evaluations and pre-admission screenings.
