United Parcel Service (UPS) is the time-definite delivery of packages and documents worldwide. It is one of the world’s largest companies headquartered in Sandy Springs, Georgia, U.S. As part of my experience, I have Worked on six different mainframe CICS web-based and OpenShift applications for UPS.

• Modernized and enhanced Customer Service Common Functions (CSCF) application user interface from mainframe to OpenShift, providing functionalities like package rerouting, holding, intercepting, and damage claims to customer service representatives.
• Contributed to Fully Visibility Tracking (FVT) application, enabling comprehensive package tracking with different authorization levels.
• Enhanced Service Center Locator Business Development (SCLBD) application, allowing management of UPS locations and service offerings.
• Development to integrate salesforce AI services with Operations Input damages and Hazmat (ODHI) application for reporting package damages, inspection results, and compliance with Hazmat regulations.
• Contributed to Delivery Information on Claims on UPS.com (DICOU) application, providing various customer functionalities, including claim creation, COD, loss package reporting, claims dashboard, and claim notifications.
• Worked on internal applications Package Claims System (PCS) and Package Claim Report (PCR), enabling district coordinators to review claim payments, approve claims, and facilitate payment processing.

My role involved working on various aspects of these applications, including mainframe modernization to OpenShift and Salesforce, enhancement, development of new functionality, and fulfilling on-demand and enterprise requirements based on client needs.

Responsibilities:

• Participating in business requirement (BR) and functional requirement (FR) meetings to understand the project requirements, provide inputs for application impacts, and seek clarification when needed.
• Handling end-to-end project delivery activities, starting from analysis, design, coding, unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and deployment to the QA (PT) environment.
• Creating analysis documents, HL design documents, system test plans, and result decks, and reviewing them with the stakeholders.
• Working as a functional expert to translate the requirements to technical design, assigning tasks to the team, and providing clarifications or guidance as required.
• Assisting the team in troubleshooting technical or data issues and coordinating with infrastructure and interfacing teams.
• Performing scrum master activities, including participation in scrum ceremonies, organizing scrum meetings, and collaborating with product owners and the development team.
• Analyzing existing code to extract application business rules for business decisions or clarifying user queries.
• Involvement in disaster switch-over activities and providing application support during those scenarios.
• Monitoring the SMC (System Management Control) tool to check for any production tickets or cases and ensure timely response and resolution according to the SLA.
• Participating in system monitoring and identifying root causes for production issues, as well as implementing fixes.
• Working closely with clients, end-users, and the application team to bridge the gap between business needs and technical requirements, especially in different time zones.
• Coordinating and overseeing the work done by the team, ensuring it meets project requirements, conducting thorough reviews, and facilitating deployment to production.
• Providing training and support for Mainframe DevOps migration tools to achieve DevOps goals.
• Working on exposing mainframe modules to zOS API Connect and supporting the modernization of control and front layers using Angular and .NET technologies.
• Working on vulnerability migrations, such as log4j, Jfrog, and ESTS migrations, in Java Webservice projects and mainframe environment.
