In my 31 years with the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision I had extensive experience with counseling, education, program leadership and supervision and budget management. As a school board member for 15 years and board president for seven years I had experience with fiscal oversight, student achievement and district policy.
As part of the facility executive team, I was responsible for directing, planning, and overseeing all rehabilitative, educational, vocational, ministerial, recreational and therapeutic services within the facility. For the last year before I retired, I was the Acting Superintendent of the facility. In that position I was responsible for the overall management, security, fiscal operations and rehabilitation programs within the facility, reporting directly to the Commissioner.
