

As a duly licensed LCPC and LCADC counselor, I hold ample experience in clinical service delivery within the field of youth and adolescent mental health and substance use. My diverse background encompasses many layers, including policy and procedure development, knowledge of foster care systems, and programmatic planning that strengthens children’s behavioral health systems here in Nevada. I am committed to promoting equitable, inclusive care for youth and families through systemic planning, policy alignment, and outcome-focused quality assurance. My specialty field of experience has focused on youth with co-occurring disorders and developing clinical treatment plans to assist with diagnosis, treatment, and promote resiliency roadmaps. As a clinician, I have comprehensive experience in providing community-based treatment, educational programs, and initiatives to improve situational understanding, and overall child and youth success and recovery.
As the DUI (drug and alcohol intervention specialist) counselor my role entailed meeting with clients to provide direct clinical services including individual, couples and group counseling. Multiple duties also involved working with the treatment team to evaluate client health and substance abuse problems and comprehensive and ongoing assessments. As the lead facilitator for the drug and alcohol intervention program, daily group therapy sessions at a maximum of 25 clients per group teaching clients coping mechanisms, drug and alcohol awareness and exploration into personal issues, anger management, relapse prevention and grief and loss. Routine daily case note documentation and assessments were maintained with clarity and consistent updates. Setting up aftercare plans, referring clients to support groups like AA and NA, meeting with family members to teach and educate on emotional support and guidance. In addition to this, my work involved being the DUI educator and counselor for Arizona state mandated DUI treatment and Diversion court mandated treatment providing group and individual counseling addressing drug and alcohol barriers due to legal ramifications.
My professional role entailed care coordination for clients in the Young Adult Program. Multiple duties involved providing assessments, completing Intakes, ASAM's, Demographics, Trauma Inventories, Suicide Assessments and inventories, Annual Updates and multiple other tasks. As a Recovery Counselor, my role encompassed facilitating process groups of Social Skills, Life Skills and Peer Support groups as well as group process of substance abuse, relationship abuse, suicidal ideation, adolescent development, self-esteem, grief and loss and other related issues for Young Adults and Adults for the Developmentally Disabled program. As a Certified Peer Support Specialist my additional roles included coaching, mentoring and empowering youths to focus on goal driven activities, embracing their strengths and weakness, enabling them to follow through with medication management and improving their health and wellness to their satisfaction. Most importantly providing hope and encouragement in an unpredictable and challenging world.
As the acting LADC therapist (under supervision) my role involved maintaining a case load under the Oklahoma City Drug Court program. My duties included Facilitating state mandated daily intensive group therapy sessions of 8 clients per session using SAMHSA curriculum. Assisted in managing clients/adults in the Drug Court System. Group topics led were on Relapse Prevention, Substance Abuse, Anger Management, Suicide & Depression, Grief and Loss, Successful Parenting and Drug Court. In addition, my role involved facilitating Child Therapy Groups at the Marcus Garvey Elementary School for 3rd and 4th graders in groups of 8 individuals focusing on Grief and Loss and Child Development. As a therapist my position also called for completing one on one individual counseling sessions addressing substance abuse and mental health as state mandated by the Oklahoma drug court system.
As a professional counselor/therapist my role involved providing substance abuse and mental health therapy with a focus on co-occurring disorders in a private practice setting utilizing an integrated theoretical approach to clients suffering from mental health and chemical dependency issues. Maintained a case load of 14 families and/or individuals. Provided individualized treatment plans for cases utilizing DSM IV diagnosis and humanistic/existential theoretical orientation.

Employed as the Mental Health Counselor & Case Manager for homeless families in the Seattle Metropolitan area. Supervised case loads of 25 families providing daily counseling sessions and care management enabling them to become independent and self-sufficient by obtaining permanent housing, self-sufficiency through community service referral and life skills development. As a counselor my role involved multiple duties to empower each individual and family member to reach their highest potential. Provided counseling group therapy and individual counseling services for families and individuals with drug and alcohol dependency and mental health issues. Instructed Parenting Classes and Life Skills Classes for parents in need of education and parental skill development. Served as head chair representative for the holiday Soiree, Annual holiday Children's Event and Annual Family Thanksgiving Event.
As the social worker working under Child Protective Services, my role involved being responsible for identifying, investigating and documenting child abuse and neglect in the public welfare system. Maintaining the daily duties of coordination of care, creating ISP Individual Safety and Security plans and implementi policies and procedures under the state child safety act. In addition, providing counseling and family preservation services to enhance and support the children, parents and families involved.
Outreach and results orientation
My personal and family resolution involves helping and serving the homeless and disadvantaged populations on special holidays including Thanksgiving and Christmas and random days by providing my service of donated food, clothing and personal contributions for the past 7 years.
