This is a $102,000,000 project with 1500 original contract days
The project is a design build, lump sum contract that involves construction of 4.79 miles to extend I-95 Express Lanes
The project includes converting the existing High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes to High Occupancy Toll (HOT) lanes, as well as widening of two mainline bridges and a full bridge replacement over a navigable waterway
Other components consist of milling and resurfacing, and overbuilding of the I-95 general use lanes; guardrail; barrier wall; attenuators; shoulder gutters; drainage; temporary and permanent retaining walls; noise walls; sign structures; traffic monitoring sites; tolling gantries and associated infrastructure including equipment buildings; Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS); signing and pavement markings; Express Lanes delineators; signalization; lighting; ramp (metering) signals; utility relocation; landscaping
Duties and responsibilities include inspections and perform densities on embankment material for roadway widening, inspections of Mechanically stabilized earth walls (MSE Walls)
Also, he assisted with the construction of ground mounted sound wall (GMSW), concrete stem wall, shoulder wall, and rigid barrier wall, placement of subgrade and base, and drainage structures with pipe backfill
