Providing on-call medical backup via Telehealth for Whakarongorau Aotearoa in it's role as subcontractor to the New Zealand's government

Providing Telehealth medical care to male patients with Men's Health issues such as ED, PE and TD

• To provide assessment, treatment and appropriate disposition of patients presenting to the largest catchment area Emergency Department in New Zealand.
• Supervision of Resident Medical Officers including orientation, teaching and patient care in respect of assessment, treatment and documentation of individual cases.
• Assist with undergraduate teaching and CME activities.

• Member of the Senior Medical Officer Group.
• Provided routine and emergency medical care to athletes.
• Assessment, investigation and management of acute and chronic medical conditions of both athletes and hospital staff and their dependants.
• Assessment and management of acute injuries in athletes after hours.
• Preoperative medical assessment of surgical patients.
• Postoperative care of surgical in-patients with clinical oversight for 20-bed unit.
• Provided on-call care at all times of day and night.
• Establishment of hospital code team protocols and code team leader during code events.
• Assisted in the implementation of Cerner.
• Development and implementation of clinical pathways.
• Maintaining a continuous 24/7 roster for the Senior Medical officer group

• Medical support to advisors, police and military personnel from the participating nations of RAMSI (Regional Assistance Mission Solomon Islands).
• 24 hour On-Call Flight Doctor for aeromedical helicopter retrievals of stationed military personnel and Solomon Island nationals.
• Provide rotating cover for the military base hospital in-patient unit consisting of a 10-bed unit and 2 resuscitation bays.
• Provide medical training to nursing and ancillary staff.

• Four 6 month rotations in Emergency Medicine

• 3 month rotations in the following specialties
• Orthopedic Surgery 6 months
• General Surgery 6 months
• Emergency Medicine 3 months
• General Medicine 3 months
• Urology 3 months
• Geriatrics 3 months
