Currently I serve as the sole Recurring Maintenance Engineer Technician for the Public Works Dept. within the Naval Facilities Engineering Command at NAS Joint Reserve Base Belle Chasse La. I have the responsibility of overseeing the effective development and operation of the Recurring Maintenance (PM) Program within a computerized maintenance management system MAXIMO. I also use AutoCAD other computer‐aided design software to provide construction
drawings for various systems (e.g. plumbing, heating, ventilation, etc.) and components.
Interpreting and applying national and professional codes, regulations and standards (e.g.
American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM). Providing quantity take‐off for systems and
components for preparation of contract cost estimate. My responsibilities include but aren't limited to acting as the subject matter expert (SME) responsible for the development and continual improvement of the PM Work Flow Processes, schedules, inventory and assessment of facility/utility equipment assets, analyze unusual conditions to determine causes and effects for the purposes of initiating appropriate maintenance actions to meet diverse needs of the baser tenant commands. I’m responsible for the development of optimum maintenance strategies for different categories of equipment and building systems utilizing the various technologies available through NAVFAC Southeast systems.

Communicate with Commodity Managers to refine and finalize inventory assets; communicate with Commodity Managers/ FEAD to identify new assets and update Maximo in order to compare IGE against contract bids for construction projects.

Within the Maximo system I develop program plans, preventative maintenance schedules for maintenance action frequencies and specifications as per original equipment requirements or standard engineering practices. Observe and record data from SCADA.
Recommended and scheduled 95% of base assets for maintenance for sustainment and recurring and preventative maintenance purposes to an in-house work force .
Responsible for providing continuing technical assistance during all phases of PM execution of in-house service providers, including reviewing and vetting changes to PM task lists, additional time, task times, frequencies and maintenance strategies. Sound technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems to provide a good working knowledge of statistical techniques, failure mode analysis and cost-benefit methods to perform and apply the optimum maintenance strategies to meet command metric requirements.
Actively supports the PWD NAS JRB New Orleans OSHA program along with all NAVFAC safety policies. Maintains a safe, healthy workplace and uses safe work practices along with wearing all applicable personal protective equipment. Keeps Chain of Command informed of significant program initiatives, developments, and status. My position utilizes proper administrative channels and quality assurance in performing operations.
