  • I help organized precursor lab in Quzhou. Initially started in Britech which later on change name to Grandit.
  • Help with hiring training people
  • Help with setting purification of HCDS
  • Synthesis of aminosilanes and scale up
  • Lanthanum and Mo precursors

President, Owner

TFMT - Thin Film Materials and Technology LLC
Janesville, WI
01.2010 - Current
  • Developed plan for consulting plans for companies working in precursor synthesis area
  • Attending several important conference's yearly to keep contact and get information about materials needed and trends. Here are examples: ALD, CMC, MRS - USA Spiring and Winter. MRS Europe. Semicon USA, Semicon China.
  • Consulting contract with several companies in USA - Prochem LLC; Nova-KEM LLC; South Korea - UMT Co., LTD; Wonik Materials Co., Ltd.; Britech Co.,LTD then Gradit Co., Ltd.

Additionally I briefly consult company in Germany and help my Chinese fried to set company in China.

Chief Chemistry Officer

Wonik Materials Co., Ltd
Ochang, South Korea
02.2016 - 06.2017
  • Consulting in start up production of HCDS in Ochang; especially final purification and analysis
  • Help set up precursor development lab
  • Trained lab crew about; safety, working in clean environment , synthesys in inert atmosphere and documentation like SOP etc.
  • Additionally, I keep eys on Wonik Materials USA- Development lab in USA (ex Nova-Kem).
  • Again we start with aminosilanes to train crew on relatively safe project
  • Next we got relatively difficult precursor from Samsung to test Wonik capability. ( I can't revile name due to confidentiality). Wonik pass the test very well.
  • My direct boss - fantastic chemist and professional with 6 years in Intel come to me and toll me that he is leaving (he can't got to agreement on several problem with his boss who don understand precursor business).

Wonik was not ready to go with full speed to precursor business.

Chief Technology Officer

Nova-Kem LLC
Germantown, WI
02.2012 - 01.2016
  • Collaborate in Company start up.
  • a. Side adaptation for work in precursor development: nitogen lines, DI water., safety equipment, etc.
  • b. hiring staff.
  • c. training crew
  • Developed initial precursor program synthesis.
  • Initially we start with aminosilanes eg, BTBAS, DEAS, DIPAS etc.
  • Initiate collaborations with Schrodinger company and purchase licensed for software to evaluate potential new precursors for SiN, SiO2 and SiON. In one year we got list of 10-11 potential new precursors.
  • In four years group develop at list 12 scalable procedures and several lab scale on customers demand. Additionally since mid 2013 group take over final purification step of HCDS, ca 200 Kg/mo.
  • Wonik Materials purchase HCDS technology and Nova-Kem in 2016

Chief Chemistry Officer

Prochem LLC
Rockford, IL
09.2009 - 02.2012
  • Evaluation synthesis of HCDS from Metal silicates.
  • Codevelop and scale up HCDS as well three steps purification to 5N
  • Arange contact for bubblers manufacture and marketing contact in South Korea
  • Work with crew to train them in safety and requirements for producing chemicals.
  • Synthesis of aminosilanes.
  • Co- funder of Nova-Kem LLC, subsidiary of Prochem in 2012

Chemistry Officer, Consultant

UMT -United Materials Technology
Seoul, South Korea
08.2009 - 09.2011
  • Consulting construction installation for polishing purification of TMA -Trimethyl Aluminum, 6N.
  • Polishing purification of HCDS for Samsung - 5N.
  • Purification of BTBAS and other aminosilanes - 5N
  • Participate in several meeting with Samsung R&D and discussions about future materials needs.

Scientist, Senior Scientist, Principal Scientist

Sigma-Aldrich
Sheboygan, WI
07.1992 - 08.2009
  • Initially run synthesis of organometallic compounds in scale 22-70L, occupied one walk-in hood.
  • On second year start leading group of three chemist, group and occupied four walk-in hoods. I receive first order for precursor - Dimethylaluminium Hydride. I make 10 Kg of material in two baches for sale value $100,000.
  • Next year I got promotion to Senior Scientist, we get full lab with 8 walk-in hoods, BS coworkers.
  • By 1999 Aldrich build specialized lab for precursor business, then analytical lab and packaging in Clean environment. Group grow to 10 people.
  • We supplied several tier 1 companies with precursors at metal purity 5-6N.
  • I was able to establish good working relation with several professors with USA Universities;
  • Just as example Prof. Roy Gordon at Harvard, Prof. Steve Gorge Colorado University, Boulder; Prof. Charles Winter, Wayne State University, Detroit.
  • Establish working contacts with several manufactures in USA, South Korea and Japan.
  • At 1994 Aldrich precursor revenue was 0$, at time of my retirement in 2009 revenue from precursor bussines was 100 $ Millions. This group still work and in 2023 Revenue was 250 $ Millions.
