Margaret Annika Stewart

I have regularly babysat for two young children, ages four and seven. My responsibilities have included keeping them entertained and safe during their time with me every summer. This experience has contributed to my development of independence.

I completed this volunteer work as part of an internship class with my high school. As a volunteer at this wildlife rehabilitation facility, I made meals for the animals, washed dishes, did laundry, and kept up the overall cleanliness of the site. I was also trained in animal care such as formula feeding baby squirrels and feeding and cleaning the turtles.

I volunteered once a week as a part of the COVID-19 response shifts where I would package bulk items and produce as well as dry products to distribute throughout Western North Carolina.

During the summer months, I have been responsible for checking on my employer's house and completing various household tasks as well as tending to the pets. Through this experience, I have learned the importance of communication and timeliness.
