Maria Spilde

Responsible for managing properties, overseeing tenant screening processes, attending city inspections, digital marketing, and communicating with tenants when problems arise.

My personal goal with each shift is to deliver high-quality patient care while building trust, and using nursing judgment and experience to manage diagnoses with the multidisciplinary team to provide optimal patient outcomes. Occasionally mentor new nurses to orient them to the NICU, and set them up for success.

Worked side by side with a Respiratory Therapist to provide neonatal care to infants needing NICU care born in outreach hospitals, or deliver sick infants to the University of Iowa Hospital for continued care. Skilled at intubation, inserting umbilical venous catheters, and needle decompression. Able to make decisions quickly, recognize and act on patient needs, while communicating with Medical Control back in Waterloo.
