  • As a UC Specialist I was responsible for providing child friendly and age-appropriate legal orientation to detained children regarding immigration removal proceedings and access to representation.
  • I would also conduct legal screenings with referral to pro bono counsel within 10 days of children arrival to centers.
  • Would contact children and sponsors via phone call after reunification for the continuation of services if pending or to scheduled an appointment if unavailable.
  • All services were provided in Spanish and documented in English.
  • As a coordinator I would assign shifts to staff to attend centers and provide legal services.
  • I would create the lists of the children that had to be provided with services and notify the centers so the children could be available.
  • I was responsible of documenting in a key spreadsheet all services that were provided and the ones that were pending.
