Marie Fiscina

I'm grateful to have a long nursing career. Everyday is a new experience in terms of relating to my patients and in acquiring, and fine tuning, my skills. I recognize that working as an RN in Corrections is a very different setting than a community hospital.

I believe my strengths include a personal quest to stay informed, and my ease in developing relationships with my patients. Corrections is a setting in which inmates are awaiting trial or serving their sentence. Demographically, they are in poorer health than the general population (ie, personal health neglect.), may be homeless, and suffer the results of illicit drug use. My belief is to develop trust in order to begin developing high quality individualized care.
