In the 13 years I have been an educator, I have worked in multiple districts, with all age groups and in both brick and mortar and online situations. This has provided a broad range of leadership experience. Through these efforts at Alturas Preparatory Academy, the Idaho State Department of Education was satisfied that special education services met or exceed the stated requirements. I built and implemented the RTI program at APA. Without this documentation, the school would not have been able to access special education funds. The documentation was in addition to the accreditation of the school. At Hillcrest High School through the careful examination of student needs, behavior supports were reconfigured to better meet the least restrictive environment for students and reduced the need for additional support staff. I work intimately with multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure that students with special needs have up-to-date evaluations, education plans and classes relevant to needs. I have experience dealing with confidential information, including mental health, physical health, academic assessments, and family information. I have been involved in interviewing, hiring, and training support staff. I have been responsible for ensuring that all caseload information is recorded as required by state and federal laws.
