Work History
Point of Care Coordinator
Manet Community Health Center
Quincy, MA
12.2019 - Current
As the point of care coordinator for Manet Community Health Centers, I am responsible for all aspects of in-house testing.
My duties include training all nurses and medical assistants in all phases of in house testing as well as send out specimens.
I visit each site weekly and perform site reviews to ensure proper documentation of all quality controls and patient results.
This data is uploaded to Microsoft teams, so it is available to management.
I maintain the inventory of all testing supplies.
I troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on medical devices and equipment.
I work seamlessly between clinicians, providers, and management.
I am extremely flexible and eager to assist with any and all situations.
I am involved with preparation for Joint Commission and HRSA.
I train new phlebotomists and sign them off.
Since being promoted to this position, one of my goals was to establish a level of uniformity across all sites in relation to POC.
All log books and POC lab areas have been standardized, which enables seamless transition of new and existing staff from site to site.
When we entered into the state of emergency in regards to Covid 19, I was repurposed to a position in our urgent care dept. (This department did not even exist yet.)
I was responsible for training our providers how to swab, I helped to lead our clinic through cloudy and unsure days.
We came up with new protocols and methods which we constantly adapted due to ever changing circumstances and increasing testing numbers.
I am very proud to be able to say that due to the level of cleanliness maintained while quarterbacking our Covid tent from March 2021 through June 2021 not one member of my team became ill.
