I am currently engaged as an Independent Contractor to assist in the design and construction of a 5.7-million-bushel, $50-million greenfield site grain (corn, soybeans, wheat) facility with 110-car rail loop track. I developed the Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) for the facility. I oversaw the production of the plan, elevation, and 3-D drawings. I compiled the project specifications and authored the bid documents which consisted of thirteen (13) separate bid packages for the unique EPC specialties of which the facility was comprised. The project will break ground in November of 2023. Commissioning of the facility is slated for Summer of 2025.

One of Shockwave’s patented processes relieves egg food products plant from the cost of disposing eggshells. The process takes the disposed eggshells and separates the membrane that lines the inside of the shell from the calcium shell itself. The dried and finished membrane is milled into a powder and sold into various markets that utilize the collagen-like material. The calcium shell is powdered and sold as a soil conditioner (fertilizer). I was the engineering lead to take the process from the pilot stage to a full scaled-up installation into an egg food products facility.

I secured the consulting contract to evaluate Syngenta Seed Company’s 22 North American facilities in the context of OSHA-driven combustible dust National Emphasis Program (NEP). All 22 plants were studied and reported on. The dust systems of most of these plants were in fact modified or retrofitted based on the recommendations in the reports. I was the on-site representative for much of the Civil portion of a new parent seed facility being designed and built for Syngenta Seeds on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii.
