I have give my time in two careers. Both stress Service to others. I believe in putting the patient and their family first. You have to be a team player and help your coworkers. I like to be proud of my unit and go above and beyond to make things work.
for Hepatitis A vaccination
Worked in a busy medium sized community hospital, In a busy emergency department.
This is the referral hospital for 4 counties and 2 states. Uniquely situated near 4 Skilled Nursing facilities and a facility for disabled,and vulnerable adults.
Performed a large number of septic work ups on the very young, and also adults. Worked closely with orthopedic providers to perform moderate sedation when needed for orthopedic procedures. Performed chest pain work ups with ER and cardiology providers. Prepped patients to go to interventional cath lab. Began EMS to Cath lab with Paramedic 12 lead and cardiology consult .
Lots of hours working with Behavioral Health patients waiting in the ER. Worked with Virtual Psychiatrist to try to keep patient flow moving.
Worked at Triage, initiating protocols, leveraged Mid Level at Triage to get process and care started.
Was offered position In Hyperbaric Medicine. Was sent for a week to train at Nix Hospital in San Antonio Texas.
Worked for a month with a preceptor in hyperbarics and the chronic wound clinic.
after first of the year. Corporate re organized wound care clinic and transferred out nurses to an OBSV. Unit. I went to the orthopedic hospital.
