Mark Makau

My name is Mark Makau, and I have gone a long way deciding about taking this new path to further my education now and after college. Environmental Science has been my interest for years now and I have always had a connection with agriculture and how it acts around me. I have been around the globe overseas and have seen the true significance of agriculture around us and the environment. How amazing it is to me now rather than when I was younger where I didn't see the bigger picture of things or take as much appreciation for them. Now that I have endured and took the time to take in all of it I now have the opportunity to take control and give me a better understanding as I yearn for and apply it into my career. As part of doing so I have been taking courses here at University of Northern Iowa that will better get me to the degree I aim to achieve after my4 years here. Though I know I have a lot to work on I want to start my career experience at AOG where I can have a head start in the workforce, try something new, put my skills I have learned to the test, meet and create connections with people who can show me a lot more than I know now. I hope to start my path with this program and am happy to see what it offers for me.
