  • Supervised the Colville Border Patrol Station by assigning work to subordinates, scheduling rosters, approving or denying leave, conducting accident investigations, handling citizen and alien complaint investigations, providing performance counseling, and rating Border Patrol agents on my shift. I have a working knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and can utilize it to work with bargaining unit officers and members to work through issues that arise.
  • Served as the Operation Stonegarden liaison, coordinating interagency operations planning and execution, constructing and submitting operations plans, and handling administration tasks. I am also assigned as Colville Station’s primary Capability Gap Analysis Planner (CGAP), supporting overarching efforts to increase CBP’s ability to effectively gain a ground-up understanding of the station’s adversaries, capabilities, and challenges in an effort to identify and exploit materiel and best practices to bridge capability gaps. In May 2016, I attended the Border Patrol Planning Process training conducted at the Colville Station, where I learned how to employ the BP3 process in a methodical and inclusive manner to generate operations orders. In September 2016, I attended the Tracking, Sign-cutting, Modeling (TSM) train-the-trainer course at Spokane Sector. I assist in developing the station’s budget/technology requirements and Self Inspection Program submissions.

  • As an Assistant Chief assigned to the Operations Division at Border Patrol Headquarters, I served as a liaison providing HQ support and guidance to Border Patrol Sectors within the East/Central Corridor, with Del Rio Sector as my primary assignment. Prior to this assignment, I was assigned to Northern and Coastal Division with oversight of the Detroit and New Orleans Sectors. My duties included, but weren’t limited to, operational, budgetary, technological and other administrative and personnel matters. Addressed public and congressional inquiries regarding Border Patrol operations on behalf of the Chief of the Border Patrol, the Commissioner of CBP, and the Secretary of Homeland Security. Other duties also included briefing Category II and III operations orders to Associate and Deputy Division Chiefs for eventual approval by the Chief of the Border Patrol.
  • As Technology Liaison Officer for Northern and Coastal Division, observed and participated in product demonstrations; authored and presented assessments of technologies to Associate and Division Chiefs; compiled Division’s Technology Requirements during ORBBP budget drill; collaborated with ORMB and OTIA to identify testing locations and procurement pathways for technologies.
  • I also served on the Compassionate Review Board which has provided me with insight as to the higher-level process of compassionate transfer requests, approvals and denials. I also served as the OBP representative to FEMA for the unified response to an Ebola virus epidemic in the Western Hemisphere, and was also the representative for the National Mass Migration Plan.
