As the high school guidance counselor, It was important to promote a safe and secure learning environment and provide the guidance necessary for students to graduate successfully while encouraging students to make responsible decisions regarding college, career, or military aspirations.

Some counseling responsibilities included:

• Individual, group, and classroom guidance
• Reviewed transcripts, and import data into Infinite Campus
• Collaborated in student intervention meetings and helped develop student intervention plans/contracts
• Developed and implemented educational plans
• Collaborated in school improvement meetings, IEP meeting and 504 meetings
• Partner with outside agencies: colleges, military, business
• Testing coordinator

Facilitated the special education program kindergarten through twelfth grade. Responsibilities included:

• Modified general education curriculum for special-needs students using various instructional techniques and technologies
• Implementing academic, behavioral, vocational and or physical needs according to students' IEP
• Scheduled, organized, and conducted IEP meetings
• Oversaw responsibilities of Special Education Paraprofessionals
• Participated in eligibility and data committee meetings

Created and managed IEPs to define student learning and provide educational strategies, while applying instructional knowledge and methods to support goals. Conducted IEP meetings in organized and professional manner.
