• Improved ED administration by compiling and analyzing data and identifying areas of improvement (Member of Sepsis Task Force)
• Advocate for patients in any situation concerning patient needs, status, or barriers
• Monitor critically ill patient's progress with interventional mode including but not limited to invasive line management, ventilator management, and hemodynamic instability monitoring using a central venous pressure monitor

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments across the lifespan.
• Diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders using DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria.
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient's clinical presentation and goals.
• Prescribe, initiate, titrate, and monitor psychotropic medications while evaluating therapeutic response and adverse effects.
• Provide medication management for patients with depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ADHD, PTSD, OCD, substance use disorders, and other psychiatric conditions.
• Perform ongoing psychiatric follow-up evaluations to monitor symptom progression, medication adherence, and treatment effectiveness.
• Educate patients and families regarding psychiatric diagnoses, medications, treatment options, side effects, and relapse prevention.
• Conduct suicide risk assessments, violence risk assessments, and safety planning while implementing appropriate crisis interventions
• Utilize motivational interviewing, supportive psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) principles, during medication management visits.
• Order, review, and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic testing related to psychiatric treatment, including medication monitoring.
• Monitor patients receiving lithium, antipsychotics, stimulants, mood stabilizers, and other psychotropic medications for efficacy and adverse effects.
• Coordinate care with primary care providers, therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, schools, social workers, and community agencies to promote continuity of care.
• Develop individualized safety plans and provide crisis intervention for patients at risk for suicide, self-harm, or psychiatric decompensation.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant electronic health record (EHR) documentation, including psychiatric evaluations, medication management notes, and treatment plans.
• Provide telepsychiatry and in-person psychiatric services while maintaining HIPAA compliance and quality standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes and improve continuity of care.
• Educate patients regarding lifestyle modifications, sleep hygiene, stress management, substance use reduction, and healthy coping strategies.
• Evaluate patients for medication side effects, extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS), tardive dyskinesia, serotonin syndrome, metabolic syndrome, and other medication-related complications.
• Review pharmacogenomic (GeneSight) testing and incorporate results into individualized medication selection when appropriate.
• Administer and interpret standardized psychiatric screening tools, including PHQ-9, GAD-7, Mood Disorder Questionnaire (MDQ), Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS), Vanderbilt, SNAP-IV, and other validated assessment instruments.
• Complete psychiatric documentation and clinical reports for schools, employers, disability accommodations, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other treatment-related requests as appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state prescribing regulations, controlled substance monitoring requirements, and evidence-based psychiatric practice guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with ethical standards and scope of practice outlined by state nursing and licensing boards.
• Analyzed problems and worked with teams to develop solutions.

• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate BSN and Master's nursing students in clinical settings.
• Assess student clinical performance and provide constructive feedback to promote professional growth.
• Grade written assignments and clinical documentation in accordance with university standards.
• Complete comprehensive student performance evaluations and competency assessments.
• Foster the development of critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and evidence-based nursing practice.
