Caliber Collision created a program, ‘’TAP,’’ Training Apprentice Program, to help the body shop industry create new bodymen, and I was chosen to be one of the mentors in this program.

I really enjoyed my job, and with this program I found that this is really what I would love to do for the long term, as I really enjoy teaching new people how to become bodymen. It is truly satisfying and an honor to see how a new apprentice is becoming a great body technician and very professional in their work.

I really enjoyed my journey in my life of being a body technician. It has been really satisfying to obtain a vehicle with an immense amount of damage from a collision and the result, after working on the vehicle, making the vehicle look as if nothing ever happened to it.

• Performed structural alignments on damaged vehicles using advanced frame straightening equipment for optimal results.

I started my career about 22 years ago. My career started after being apprenticed for two years and two years in b-tech finally becoming a journeyman bodyman. After a few years my employer has given me the opportunity to start having an apprentice on my side to teach them and it was very rewarding to see them becoming full body technicians.
