  • I was a track runner at Bedford North Lawrence High School my Senior year. I ran in the 400 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 800 meter dash, and the 1,600 Meter relay. Through that experience I learned and developed lots of valuable skills like self discipline, healthy lifestyle habits, school and athletic balance, goal setting and achieving, teammate relationship building, and so on. In the end, I was even able to secure two sectional titles my first year running track thanks to my hard work and the work and support of my family, coaches, peers, and according to my personal views and beliefs God.
  • I love creating art and have an eye for detail and craftsmanship. I’ve submitted some of my art into art contests in the past and was successful in doing so. I’ve also created an unpublished children’s book with my art that I entered into a statewide competition for a club I was a part of in high school called Educators Rising. The creative arts process allows me to delve into the complex and innovative side of myself. It helps me bring my visions and experiences to life. And, I’ve found it to be a great way to relax and process certain thoughts and feelings.
  • I was a part of my county’s 4-H club for ten consecutive years in my youth. Though I didn’t stick to one specific category for those ten years, I did find myself trying new projects through the years and also revisiting categories I had tried before as well. Being a part of 4-H allowed me to be a part of a dynamic community that was committed to learning and growth. Through 4-H I not only bettered myself and my skills, but I also bettered my community and was bettered by my community. I even ended up working at the state fair myself, and through that got to see and experience more of 4-H’s well-rounded environment.
