Being part of the medical team by supporting patients and providers by information gathering with focused attention to quality and detail. Learning new skills with LIS programs, laboratory machines, and studying organizational processes for team efficiency, and basic bed-side care has been a wonderful part of my life.

Senior Laboratory Assistant

  • Performed phlebotomy for all in-patient departments in largest hospital in Snohomish county, over all three shifts, and both campuses.
  • Served as part of training team.
  • Communications and Specimen handling in Laboratory Processing for all hospital samples.
  • Trained as laboratory specimen Courier, driving company vehicle as part of regular duties.
  • Trained and worked in Microbiology while dept was still local, and performed some CAP testing.

2004 - 2015
  • Performed phlebotomy for out-patient clinical laboratory serving family medicine, pediatric, geriatric, specialty medicine, and urgent care clinics.
  • Ran basic laboratory waived testing, and moderately complex testing such as urinalysis, centrifuging, pouring off blood and body fluid samples for both in-house testing and packaging for shipping specimens farther afield.
  • Completed EKGs for all above mentioned departments.
