Robotic Team Lead duties included implementation of the first Robotics program at Belton Regional Medical Center. Maintain assessment of program needs which includes procurement of supplies and development and training of staff. Other duties include close communication with physicians and vendors to ensure safe quality care. Ongoing oversite of Robotics program to ensure continued growth.

Clinical Nurse Coordinator duties include assisting with daily oversite of operations in the OR environment. Serve as a role model, mentor and subject matter expert in the professional practice of surgery as they pertain to patient care. Work with other Clinical Nurse Coordinators within the department to ensure a consistent continuum of care and smooth transition between phases of the surgical experience.

Other duties include providing care in the perioperative setting. Care includes assessing, planning and implementing nursing care preoperatively, intraoperatively and postoperatively. Activities include pre admission interview and testing, patient assessment, creating and maintaining a sterile and safe environment, patient teaching, coordinator of care among disciplines and patient advocacy. Assist in training of surgery staff as a designated preceptor. Education of staff for annual competencies as well as ongoing education to ensure all staff is competent with new policies, procedures,equipment and current best practices.

Oversite of surgical operations. Assisted with staffing needs including onboarding and completion of competencies. Ongoing oversite and assessment of the educational needs of staff. Managed staffing schedules and anticipated staffing needs. Led and managed staff in their daily assigned roles. Worked within the department by teaching, scheduling in-services and leading staff in personal development. Developed good rapport with surgeons and leadership.

Provided care for patient in the perioperative setting. Care included assessment, planning and implementation of nursing care. Assisted in training surgery staff as Super User on the use of Meditech EHR. Additional responsibilities included those of acting OR Coordinator in her absence.

Experience included working in the ER. Outpatient Speciality Clinic, Quality Management and Surgical Services Department. 4+ years were spent in the Surgery department where main focus was on care of the patient in the perioperative setting. We did a variety of cases. One year of surgery experience included acting Surgery Coordinator where responsibility was focused on daily organization of surgery schedule and supervision of surgery staff. Experience in the Outpatient clinics included working with multiple physicians in various specialties. Experience within the Quality Management department included chart review for clinical competency to ensure regulatory adherence to promote quality care.
