Summary

I served in the USCG for six years where two of those I was a Deck Hand and the last four i was an electrician, 1 1/2 years on land at Base New orleans and 2 1/2 years on USCGC Joshua Appleby. I learned a lot of knowledge through the years working as Electricians Mate 3rd class on commercial/residential building at Base New orleans and surrounding bases, as part of the FE (Facilities Engineering Department). I also helped the with plumbing and mechanical maintenance and repairs around the Administration and Industrial Buildings.

As Electricians Mate 2nd I served on the United States Coast Guard Cutter Joushua Appleby. Serving on the Joshua Appleby I was over all electrical on board as well as being EOW (engineering Officer Of the Watch) where we monitor all engeering systems and machinery for normal and abnormal operations. I grew my technical knowledge of being an electrician, taking on more complex tasks and toubleshooting to find the problem and a better solution. I was also a crane operator for our buoy deck.

With being the 2nd class petty officer I was in supervisory positions helping non-rates who want to go Electricians Mate learn about the job and also teaching younger Coasties knowledge that we have to learn around the boat.
