Operation Heal our Patriots is based out of Port Alsworth Alaska 100 miles north west of Anchorage only accessible by plane. Operation Heal Our Patriots is a non profit branch of Samaritans Purse that takes wounded veterans and their wives for a week long adventure through the most beautiful remote part of Alaska I think there is. It is designed to strengthen the marriages of wounded and injured members of the U.S. military. It provides physical and spiritual renewal to wounded veterans, active-duty service members, and their spouses. I have worked three seasons now over the past three years with Operation Heal Our Patriots.
Below is a summarized list of my job responsibilities and expertise I have gained from my time at the lodge.
During my time at the lodge I have fished 12 rivers and 12 lakes all throughout souther Alaska. After two season I have taken over 400 float plane trips, and well over 1600 miles of boat time in. Boats I am familiar with range from 16 foot outboards to 26 foot outboards, jet and prop. I also would guide as a deck hand on a 36 foot deck boat on Lake Clark every now and then. The one thing I do the least of is rafting only because it is vary weather dependant. The raft trip includes a 6 mile float down the remote upper Tazimina river for a fishing and nature viewing experience.

Developed relationships with guests, Instructed guests on proper fishing techniques and safety measures, and provide first aid and cold river and lake water rescue when needed during emergency situations while in the field I also can displayed strong public speaking skills and communication abilities to facilitate the highest quality tour for guests Below is a list of some skill sets I have at random that are outside of fishing
When I am not guiding fishing I am back in my home state of Ohio and PA hunting anything from whitetail, black bear, turkey, and everything inbetween. I didn't really play any sports growing up in high school because I was either in the woods or on a river somewhere. In my high school days I spent my summers working in construction and poring concrete. I left a Instagram link below where you can get a better feel of how and where I hunt if that is something that interests you. If you have read this far I really appreciate you taking the time and I hope to possible hear from you soon.
