For the last two summers, I have been an assistant for swimming pool repair techs on days they are replacing pool lights. In this role, communication and listening are a big part of this job, as you have to work closely with the repair tech who is working at the electrical box while I am in the pool working on the pool light. If we aren't pulling together, then the light will get stuck and the job won't be successful. After the light has been replaced, I gather the supplies and clean up the job site. In the morning, I help load parts on the van that will be needed for the day. Throughout the day, I observed the tech and looked for areas I could help out with. The work is outdoors and can be very physical.

Make sandwiches and load the truck that goes out around Austin to feed the homeless and less fortunate.
