I am a music education and guitar performance major at Oakland University with ambition to become a music teacher at a public school.
For the past two summers I worked as a camp counselor. I led groups of children from ages 4-15 of various different backgrounds and developmental levels. I used the core teaching practices I learned through my teacher cadet class in high school to lead activities ranging from drum circles, birdwatching, archery, and more. From my time there I developed my patience and passion for serving children, and to efficiently communicate with parents.
Served as a background musician for "A Night for Democratic Change" hosted by the Michigan 10th Congressional District Democratic Party.
As a senior in high school I was hired by Capac High School to play guitar for their production of Little Shop of Horrors. This was a wonderful time for me to utilize my skills to help out a nearby school and develop professionality in music.
In my junior year of high school, I played electric guitar for my schools production of High School Music. This was my first experience as a pit musician and was crucial for me learning to sight read music and play guitar in an ensemble setting
