  • I decided to start working for myself, and I started my own LLC using my knowledge of construction and handyman skills learned through my experience over the years.
  • My clients were spread out in the Tampa Bay area, through very little advertising and mainly word of mouth, I have become a very trustworthy and dependable option for my communities needs.
  • You name it, I provided a solution for my customers.
  • Carpentry, drywalling, painting, tiling, pavers and landscaping projects, electrical projects, interior and exterior.
  • I started with just a couple tools, a pressure washer and a few flyers, and have grown to a full time handyman/pressure washing business.
  • I have had projects costing tens of thousands and the company's peak yearly sales was in the 6 figures!

Maintenance man/ Handyman

Village On The Green III

  • I was hired by an acquaintance of one of my customers who was in an HOA and needed a reliable maintenance guy.
  • So I took care of the needs and projects of 86 units and the grounds of an age restricted community.
  • I work by myself and the HOA grounds manager was who I reported to.
  • I collected work orders daily, if they were something the HOA covered I did the work, if not covered by the HOA, I offered to do the work for an hourly rate after work (recommended by management).
  • I had a work shed and a golf cart, with all tools and materials needed.
  • I did excellent work, some of which is as listed below.
  • Carpentry (trim, siding, window frames, doors), irrigation ( repairs, electrical troubleshooting, control valve swap/testing), painting, concrete work, asphalt, cut down trees, electrical troubleshooting/ repairs, landscaping, stucco repair, gutters (cleaning, repairs, adding guards), I checked and maintained water meters weekly, fence repairs, and much more.
  • I left this position after I trained another to do what was needed proficiently, and went back to focus on my business full time.
  • Although I really enjoyed this position and taking care of a specific neighborhood and their needs.

Assistant Manager/Sandwich Artist/Delivery Driver/Handyman

  • Company Overview: Palm Harbor, FL (3 LOCATIONS), Dunedin, FL (2 LOCATIONS), Clearwater, FL
  • I always kept this job even if it was a second job, I enjoyed it, thought it was easy, and found that it taught me a lot.
  • I assisted in scheduling.
  • I assisted in hiring and training new hires properly.
  • I kept a detailed list of the inventory and what needed to be ordered and when.
  • I prepped the food, cleaned the store, stocked the store, I made the orders for the customers, always upselling products, and I learned how to deal with customers better than ever, only this job could have taught me, face to face, it's truly a great learning experience.
  • I closed the store down at night, I counted the cash drawer and I made cash drops, if necessary.
  • I also ran deliveries throughout the day.
  • Also because of my handyman experience, I took it upon myself and I fixed anything that needed me to do so ( clogged drains, oven troubleshooting, refrigerator troubleshooting, a. c. issues, etc.)
