I learned about oncology patients and other patients who received immunotherapy, radiation, and orthopedic conditions in the Adult Inpatient Unit. I was able to practice nursing skills during my internships such as urinary catheterizations, IV starts, arterial line blood draws, medication administration, admissions, discharge teaching, communication with providers about changes in the status of patients, nurse-to-nurse reports, and care plans.
