Skills

  • Worked as a Construction Wireman for the IBEW Electrical Union in San Diego for a year and a half before getting into the IBEW Inside Wireman Apprenticeship Program which I was in for 3 years until I was involved in a hit and run freeway motorcycle accident coming back from work one day (underwent multiple surgeries on left foot and was unable to walk for 15 months)
  • To get into the Apprenticeship program I had to first pass a Reading Comprehension and Math test as well as go in front of a board of 10 directors of the Electrical Union and plead my case on why I should be chosen for the program
  • Out of over a thousand applicants, they ended up only choosing 21 candidates for the program and I was told that I was #2 pick out of over a thousand applicants (beaten only by a candidate who had been a low voltage engineer in the Army)
  • I received straight A's throughout the entire program and had almost perfect attendance (up until my accident)
  • Got the highest marks from my 2 employers
  • Never called out of work and always showed up at least 30 minutes early, ready and eager to work
