Dynamic Nuclear Electrician Supervisor skilled in effective communication and group leadership. Proven track record in team development and youth mentorship through sports coaching, fostering personal growth and promoting sportsmanship.
As a nuclear supervisor, I am in charge of planning and scheduling of nuclear electrical jobs on an immediate and long-range basis in accordance with established schedule requirements. I participate in combined nuclear and non-nuclear long-range planning efforts and scheduling development. I review all the nuclear work packages to ensure that all work is within the scope of the ships/customer’s needs. I ensure all material nuclear and nonnuclear have been ordered to support the work package. I utilize lessons learned, historical data, ship checks, and meetings to plan, develop the work schedule, and determine the budget for nuclear work. Some of the tools I use are PMC, SupDesk, & AIM. I track schedule by utilizing Project Sequencing and Scheduling (PSS) and maintaining it by reviewing the Daily Priority List (DPL). I also review pert charts to ensure the logic is right within SWLINs. I am responsible for ensuring all work is executable by the schedule, so I utilize Webaim to progress and determine priorities of jobs. I am responsible for tracking/managing Milestones and Key events along with zone managers. I am in charge of managing all resources from the shop to the projects (RAP). Looking ahead at the upcoming work and putting in the manning request ensures I have the proper qualified personnel on the job. I let the workers know how important it is that we meet the scheduled completion dates and deadlines. I update Webaim on a daily basis. Also assist with the training of new workers by setting up and coordinating the proper training, they need (Mentorship). By mentoring the new workers and sharing the knowledge of the Virginia class submarines I feel is another way of helping strengthen our workforce. I interact and work well with multiple people such as APSN, APS, DPS, PE, PEPM, zone managers, schedulers, work packaging, engineers, supervisors, & mechanics. I am continuously developing my management-subordinate relationship to build trust, reinforce core leadership principles, to foster a productive and harmonious workplace using the commands LO behaviors/principles. I participate in LO cells, C950 boardwalks, safety/QAC meetings, and N-code meetings to share lessons learned/improvements with my work team to ensure first time quality work and prevent Level 1 & 2 problems. Every Wednesday, I attend a supervisor/GF meeting to discuss any issues/concerns and to identify overall health of our section.
