Summary
I am Matthew Ramirez. I am 19 years old. I'm a college student currently attending East Los Angeles Community College (ELAC) and will be transitioning to Cal State LA in Fall 2024. My major will be in urban learning/education. My goal is to graduate with a teaching degree and be fortunate to be able to teach at the elementary grade level. I'm interested and searching for new work opportunities to help expand my experience in the field that I'm pursuing. I believe given an opportunity will allow for new skills that will facilitate working with children. I enjoy teaching and engaging children in fun and recreational activities that will expand their social and developmental skills.
Work History
L.I.T Member
Boys and Girls Club of Whittier
06.2019 - 08.2019
During the Summer of 2019, I had the opportunity of participating in a program from The Boys and Girls Club in City of Whittier called L.I.T (Leaders in Training)
The program ranged only for teenagers ages 14-18
Our objective is to organize various fun activities for young children in the club and engage with them as they do them
However, the program was more than just having fun and getting to shape the lives of young children, it was also about using many adaptive skills that will become an essential part of a teacher's future curriculum that include problem solving, communication, and leadership skills
These skills would ultimately shape myself and young minds too that would help them become future responsible and independent citizens in the community
