Oversees the daily operations, as well as the long-term growth and organization of the family advocate program at TCAC.
Meets with the Executive Director to monitor team progress, provide policy updates, and best practices/research for providing advocacy services and up-to-date resources in the community.
Assists with the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring process of new family advocates, and oversees the coordination of training and support for new family advocates.
Attends MDT and case staffing meetings to offer updates and resources as needed.
Keeps up to date with national and state standards for family advocacy.
Provides guidance and input to employees regarding policies and procedures as they apply to the Advocacy Services Department.
Ensures all family advocate staff receive the training needed upon hire and maintain the required training yearly, in accordance with state and national standards.
Oversees handling and resolving departmental complaints and staff issues that may arise.
Schedules, coordinates, and facilitates monthly team meetings, in-house peer review meetings.
Ensures family advocates provide support, resources, information, and referrals to members of the multidisciplinary team, or directly to the child victim, or non-offending family members.
Meets with other directors to ensure efficient collaboration between programs.
Oversees the internship program for undergraduate degrees, including recruitment and onboarding efforts.
Represents the organization on a local, state, and national level by presenting at conferences and participating in work groups to enhance the Advocacy program.
