I fulfilled the secretarial position for two providers in a busy family medicine practice.

  • Took 20-50 calls a day from patients and medical offices, resolving each call quickly and efficiently.
  • Checked 20-40 patients in, making sure all personal information and HIPAA was correct and up to date.

  • Set up 10 or more diagnostic imaging appointments weekly, obtaining insurance authorization if required.
  • Submitted 1-7 prior authorization requests per week through an online portal or by phone, then followed through as needed.
  • Prepared and sent 1-3 referrals to specialty providers per day, scheduling patients at their request.
  • Managed “my” physician’s and the physician assistant’s schedule and patient panel daily; ensured 85 percent of appointments (5-30 slots) were booked daily, called all appointments to confirm or reschedule, checked insurance, booked and double booked sick appointments, prepared paperwork for the providers, and anything they asked of me
  • General office duties i.e.: faxing, mail, prepping paperwork, team meetings
