The Home Lab ~ Nov 2017 – Present

  • An ongoing (it might never end) home lab to tinker with enterprise hardware, systems, software, and infrastructure, especially IAC/IaaS and IoT, in my spare time. Currently reducing in size for other projects, and power/heat constraints.
  • Sub-components: KVM VMs + LXC Containers via Proxmox, Plex Media Server, NAS (Samba and NFS), OPNSense firewall, VLANs and network architecture, AdGuard adblockers, Wireguard VPN tunnel, Duo 2FA integration, software RAID (ZFS)

Battery Backup Solar Power Station ~ Sep 2023 – Present

  • A DIY battery backup with solar power charging for unfortunate times when the power is out. Provides variable voltages and common power outputs like 12V sockets and 5V USB (with newer standards), and 120V AC for refrigerators, lights, etc.
  • Sub-components: LiFoPO4 Prismatic cells, battery management system (BMS), various solar panels, MPPT solar charge controller, inverter, safety components, proper wiring, rigid and safe enclosure, etc.
