At Conservation Corps Minnesota and Iowa, I excelled as a Crew Member and Youth Peer mentor, fostering leadership through educational activities, environmental stewardship, problem solving and collaboration. In this role, I improved trails significantly at several locations as well as invasive species removal in different parks with my crew each summer. During the summer of 2024, I moved into a new role at Wilderness Inquiry as an Outdoor Leader, where I learned how to adapt my leadership style depending on the group of people I was working with, as well as learning several new practical skills, such as sterning a canoe, knots navigation. At my college, I have taken several different environmental science classes such as Field Skills, GIS, Biology, Chemistry, Soils, and more. These classes have taught me new skills such as proper procedure for data collection, analysis and interpretation, report writing, and basic research skills, among many others. I look forward to hopefully being able to apply these skills this summer.
