Full time Hospitalist at quaternary referral center. Both day shift rounding on 14 patients and nocturnist admissions averaging 6 patients. Working to full extent of licensure as solo provider at small regional facility. Assessing need for transfer to larger metropolitan hospital. Ensures accurate diagnosis and treatment of broad range of acute medical conditions requiring urgent inpatient evaluation and intervention. Also managing chronic medical conditions while hospitalized. Collaborating closely with multiple allied health providers and subspecialties to provide holistic high quality care. Coordinating safe disposition after transition out of acute care phase.

Part time evenings overseeing all care for high volume observation unit designed to manage patients who required additional 24 to 48 hours of diagnostic testing or medications prior to returning home. Averaged 12 patient encounters per shift. Developed strong rapport with emergency department team to develop a comprehensive treatment plan for patients.

Full time Hospitalist taking on various roles to meet changing needs within the department. Initially provided patient education for prevention of congestive heart failure and other chronic cardiac conditions. Later transitioned to neuro-hospitalist team managing acute strokes and refractory seizures.

Full time Hospitalist working evenings/nights evaluating and triaging new patients in Emergency Department for appropriate level of care and initial interventions. Also responding to codes (rapid response, stroke, cardiac) on all inpatient units, rehab unit, and long term care unit.
